GLENCOE - On Saturday, July 20th, Glencoe came alive with the vibrant celebrations of Tartan Days. The town’s Main Street was bustling with activity as residents and visitors enjoyed a variety of events. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the car show, where a dazzling array of vintage and classic vehicles attracted many enthusiasts. The street was filled with shiny cars, each one a testament to automotive history and craftsmanship.
Amid the festivities, this reporter enjoyed local food offerings and delicious treats from different vendor stands. The aroma of freshly grilled barbecue filled the air, complementing the lively atmosphere.
A visit to the Glencoe & District Historical Society Archives provided a poignant connection to the town’s past. The open house offered a fascinating tour of historical artifacts and documents. The society’s booth was also a focal point, providing information about their preservation efforts.
Adding a literary touch to the event, C.J. Frederick, author of “Rooted and Remembered,” was present to sign copies of her book.
