TRAVEL - Okay, it’s been cold out! It is winter, yes? But what to do with those restless tots and tweens when it’s freezing?
Play inside.
Not at home, but at one of several venues offered in London. Of course, most are aware of the Children’s Museum and the Fanshawe Pioneer Village. Please check for their hours though, as winter and volume play a part in when these are open.
There are museums in town and art galleries. But will these interest your kids? Maybe, but there are a bevy of inside venues that might excite and use up some of that pent up energy.
Adventures on Wonderland is at 3198 Wonderland Road South. They boast of being “one of London’s largest indoor playgrounds and family entertainment facilities”. They offer activities from a giant jungle chamber to the Wee Ones Underwater World and Laser tag.
Funvilla London, found at 1305 Commissioners Road east, states they are “Nonstop Fun Under One Roof”. This place features trampolines, a multi-tiered soft play area, warrior zone, ninja course, arcade games, and toddler zones. The building that houses it is huge, containing rooms for martial arts, indoor pools coming soon, and a “baby spa”.
Aero Sports is said by a manager to offer over 5,000 square feet of fun. They are at 784 Wharncliffe Road south. Features include such activities as Battle Beam, Valo Jump, Rock Wall, Dodge ball, Warped Walls, an Interactive Floor and ninja maze.
Off the Wall Kids is located at 539 First Street, and state they have, “exclusive to London play structures like the Donut slide, the volcano slide, and the ballistics arena.
The Factory in the restored Kellogg building has fun for all ages. East Park also offers indoor activities like Rock Climbing, an arcade, Bumper Cars and a Jungle Gym. Check their websites for hours and pricing.
You can always play outside for free with offerings from Springbank Park and Storybook Gardens with their 250-metre skate trail or Westminster Ponds which offers approximately 200 hectares of ponds and trails.
So, there are alternatives to loosing your mind while your kids ravage your home. Whatever you choose, play safe and stay warm.
