OPP RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO REFUSAL CHARGE
STRATHROY CARADOC - Driver charged with refusal in OPP RIDE Program. On September 6, 2025, at 9:34 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Highway 402 in the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc.
A vehicle entered the RIDE Program at which time a traffic stop was initiated. It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver refused to provide a sample, was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.
As a result, a 33-year-old of Middlesex Centre, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Failure or refusal to comply with demand
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 6, 2025.

SEX ASSAULT INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - Individual charged after sex assault investigation in Middlesex Centre. On August 19, 2025, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Middlesex Centre for the report of a sex assault. The Middlesex County OPP Crime Unit assisted with the investigation. The victim and accused were known to each other.
As a result, a 47-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Assault.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 3, 2025. It is suspected there may be more victims.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY OPP INVESTIGATING FARMING ACCIDENT
NORTH MIDDLESEX - Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigating a farming accident that claimed a life in North Middlesex. On September 20, 2025, at 4:03 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP, Lambton County EMS and local fire were dispatched to a farm on Parkhill Drive in the Municipality of North Middlesex for the report of a farming accident. Investigation revealed an individual was located unconscious in a well on the property and was subsequently transported to hospital.
The individual, a 15-year-old of Arkona, was later pronounced deceased at hospital.
Members of the Middlesex County OPP along with the Ministry of Labour and Office of the Coroner are on scene as the investigation continues.

OPP INVESTIGATING BREAK & ENTER IN KILWORTH
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - Middlesex County OPP investigating a break and enter to residence in Kilworth. On September 21, 2025, at 9:03 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Beechnut Street in Kilworth, the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, for the report of an after-the-fact, residential break and enter. Investigation revealed an unknown individual(s) smashed a window to the house and gained entry, sometime between September 19, at 4:00 p.m., and the 21st of September at 8:00 a.m.
The value of items taken is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing.

DUMP TRUCK ROLLOVER LEADS TO CARELESS DRIVING CHARGE
THAMES CENTRE - Driver loses control on Elgin Road and rolls dump truck full of gravel. On September 15, 2025, at 3:45 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service were dispatched to Elgin Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre for the report of a single vehicle collision. As a result of the collision, Elgin Road was closed between Hamilton Road and Catherine Street for clean up as gravel covered the roadway. The road has since opened. The driver of the truck was transported to hospital as a precaution. A 36-year-old of Glencoe has been charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY OPP INVESTIGATING SHOOTING INCIDENT
ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION - Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Oneida Nation Police investigating a shooting incident on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation. On September 14, 2025, at 12:59 a.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police, Munsee-Delaware First Nation Police and Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Ballpark Road, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation for the report of a break and enter.
Officers arrived on scene and located an individual that had suffered a gunshot wound. They were subsequently transported to hospital by Oneida Nation Paramedic Service to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A 26-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation has been taken into custody.
The Middlesex OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate this incident.
