INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES-
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - On May 7, 2024, at 8:32 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a disturbance. As a result, a 30-year-old of Middlesex County, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault - Spousal (Two Counts)
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.
SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE
NORTH MIDDLESEX- Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle leaves roadway and enters ditch.
On May 9, 2024, at 6:20 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service were dispatched to Elginfield Road in North Middlesex, for the report of a single vehicle that left the roadway and entered the ditch.
It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest without incident. As a result, Nicholas JELONKIEWICZ, a 37-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 2, 2024.There were no injuries reported.
BREAK AND ENTER IN THAMES CENTRE
THAMES CENTRE - On May 14, 2024, at 3:05 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address at 1227 Donnybrook Drive in Dorchester, Thames Centre, for the report of a break and enter.
It was determined an unknown individual(s) entered the business through a front window sometime during the overnight hours.
At this time, it doesn’t appear anything was taken. The investigation is continuing.
RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE
NORTH MIDDLESEX - North Middlesex resident charged with impaired operation in OPP RIDE Program.
On May 14, 2024, at 2:19 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Queen Street in North Middlesex.
A vehicle entered the RIDE program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.
As a result, Dwight HUGHES, a 58-year-old of North Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal
Code and Highway Traffic Act with:
- Operation while impaired
- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
- Obstruct plate
- Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 25, 2024.
