As we near the end of 2024, I want to take a moment to reflect on the year we have shared as a community and provide a glimpse of the exciting future ahead for North Middlesex. This has been a year of growth, collaboration, and progress, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together.
Our commitment to building a stronger, more connected North Middlesex has been at the heart of our efforts this year. Community events like the Ailsa Craig 150th Celebration, Mud Creek Bluegrass Festival, and the annual Parkhill Fair brought residents and visitors together to celebrate our heritage and support local businesses. These gatherings showcased the spirit and vibrancy that make our municipality so special.
We have also made strides in enhancing our public spaces and facilities. Improvements to parks and recreational amenities across our municipality reflect our dedication to providing spaces where families and individuals can connect, play, and thrive.
This year, we focused on critical infrastructure projects to support the long-term growth and sustainability of North Middlesex. From upgrades to our roadways and bridges to ongoing improvements to water and wastewater systems, we have worked diligently to ensure our infrastructure meets the needs of today while preparing for the demands of tomorrow.
Our local economy continues to grow, with new businesses choosing North Middlesex as their home. Supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs remains a priority, and we are proud to have introduced initiatives aimed at boosting local commerce and fostering innovation.
Agriculture, a cornerstone of our economy, has also seen strong support through municipal programs and partnerships. We are committed to ensuring our farmers have the resources they need to succeed while exploring ways to grow this vital sector.
As we prepare for 2025, we are excited about the opportunities to further enhance our community. Key priorities will include:
1) Housing and Development: Addressing housing availability and affordability to ensure North Middlesex remains a place where individuals and families of all backgrounds can build their lives.
2) Environmental Sustainability: Expanding green initiatives and exploring sustainable energy projects to protect our natural environment for generations to come.
3) Community Engagement: Continuing to strengthen communication with residents, ensuring your voices guide our decisions and priorities.
I am thrilled to announce several upcoming projects and events for the new year. A major milestone for 2025 will be the opening of a new daycare facility by fall. This much-needed addition will provide working families with access to quality childcare, supporting both parents and children as our community continues to grow.
None of this would be possible without the passion and dedication of our residents, local organizations, and municipal staff. I want to thank each of you for your contributions to making North Middlesex a wonderful place to live, work, and play. Your ideas, feedback, and support drive our progress and inspire our future.
Together, we will continue to build on our successes and embrace the opportunities ahead with optimism and determination. Let’s make 2025 a year of even greater achievements for North Middlesex.
