TRAVEL - Putting on a good front for Christmas is a task that may challenge some shop owners. Being festive, attracting the eye to the store, as well as being in the season all play a part in decorating store fronts.
In Ilderton, the florist there always does it up well as colour mixes with greenery to appeal to most any eye. Ailsa Craig’s shops have some Christmas spirit but one home on its main core used the entire yard to show the owner’s Christmas spirit.
Parkhill had a few shops that were decorated. The Second Blessings Thrift Shop was a favorite of this writer. In Lucan, the local florist did it well, however the Optimist thrift shop window display was very festive.
As nighttime is the best time to view Christmas lights, it would be to your advantage to stop in one—or more—of these downtown areas and take a walk, see the store fronts and possibly enjoy a hot chocolate.
