GLENCOE - Ever find yourself craving a coffee that’s a bit out of the ordinary? If you are in Southwest Middlesex or just passing through, The King’s Koffee Bar offers a delightful alternative. Located in Glencoe at 23002 Dundonald Road, this café is more than just another coffee spot. It’s a vibrant showcase of creativity and family synergy. Here, Riley Varga, a young entrepreneur with a deep passion for coffee, has turned his vision of a unique coffee experience into reality.
Riley’s journey into the world of coffee began with an entrepreneurial spark and his love for the beverage, a love he shares with his mother, Conny. “I was always brainstorming business ideas, and then it clicked—one of the local fairs needed a coffee vendor. That pushed me to start this,” Riley explains. His father, Mark, supported this venture, encouraging him to explore beyond just serving basic coffee.
This establishment has quickly become synonymous with quality and community engagement. “From our first fair to regular operations, we have grown by listening to our customers and evolving with their preferences,” says Mark, highlighting the organic growth of their business.

The sourcing of their coffee beans illustrates their commitment to quality and local partnerships. “We initially bought roasted beans, but now we source green beans and have them roasted locally, ensuring freshness and supporting local businesses,” Mark details. This shift also came from necessity when their primary supplier faced supply issues, prompting them to find more reliable sources closer to home.
The temporary closure of Glencoe’s Tim Hortons last summer marked a significant period for The King’s Koffee Bar. “When Timmies shut down, things picked up for us. It was a busy time, but it showed us how much the community supports us,” Riley recalls, capturing the essence of that pivotal time.
Riley juggles his business responsibilities with homeschooling, a balance that has taught him valuable lessons in time management and discipline. “I manage the shop in the mornings, then focus on my studies and other interests in the afternoon,” he says. His mother, Conny, nods in agreement, emphasizing the flexibility and growth this schedule has afforded him.
As the business continues to thrive, the Vargas are always looking for ways to innovate and improve. “We are not just running a business; we are cultivating a gathering spot for the community,” Mark states. They are also considering transforming part of their space into a sit-in cafe to enhance the customer experience.
Keeping the menu fresh and exciting is a priority for Riley and Conny. “We constantly update our offerings to keep our customers interested and coming back,” Conny adds.
Looking ahead, the Vargas are mindful of Riley’s future educational pursuits. “We are taking it one step at a time. As Riley prepares for college, we will adapt the business to ensure it continues to thrive,” shares Mark.
The King’s Koffee Bar exemplifies how a small business can deeply impact its community, providing not just coffee but a warm, welcoming space that reflects the heart and soul of Glencoe. Through a blend of innovation, family values, and community support, Riley and his family are brewing a legacy that will endure well into the future.
