KOMOKA - Outdoor farmers market season is back. In Middlesex Centre, the Komoka Community Market opened for business outside the Komoka Wellness Centre Saturday May 17th. “We have up to 60 vendors per morning and we see 2000 to 4000 on a typical market morning,” says Market Manager Amy Watt.
The 2025 Komoka Market features a number of familiar businesses as well as some new faces. These include “Mistyglen Creamery, with all of your cow dairy products; Small World Mycology, with an amazing selection of mushrooms; the Whole Grain Hearth, with whole grain, wholesome breads; Heirloom Bakery, with a beautiful selection of tasty breads for those with celiac and a variety of food sensitivities; and New Moon Community Homestead, with a variety of non-certified, organically grown, egg, meat, and vegetable options,” according to Watt.
The Komoka Community Market also features performers to keep visitors entertained. As for performer opportunities this year, “several days are completely full, but here are still one or two openings on some of the days this season.,” says Watt. “We have local performers booked for each of the weeks at market, but it is always ok to check in. We do have cancellations from time to time, so there is no harm connecting with us if you are hoping to busk on a Saturday morning,” adds Watt.
Community involvement remains a key component of the market’s success. “We have a number of local businesses who are involved by helping us to host youth vendors, and charities, as well as hosting events,” says Watt “We have 10 Community Partners who are key to helping us to host great events for families in our community That help attract customers to the market. For example, through the community partners, we are having face painting on opening day, and balloon, twisting on May 24. Be sure to check out all of our upcoming events on our website,” adds Watt.
