OPP ASSISTS WITH DEATH INVESTIGATION IN STRATHROY
STRATHROY - The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service (SCPS), with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Sarnia Police Service, is investigating a homicide that occurred in Strathroy on Friday afternoon.
On Friday, June 27, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., SCPS responded to a medical emergency on Ashby Crescent. Upon police arrival, officers located an individual with apparent stab wounds outside of a residence.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Endy MONIZ, 27 years old of Strathroy, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, a 27 years old of Strathroy, is charged with first degree murder, contrary to section 235 (1) of the Criminal Code. The accused remains in police custody. There is no threat to public safety.
SERIOUS COLLISION CAUSES CHEMICAL SPILL
STRATHROY - Members of the Middlesex Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a serious collision involving a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle on Highway 402 westbound at Centre Road, that caused a slow leak of a chemical.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2025, just after 1:00 p.m., a collision occurred on the highway that resulted in a leak from a tractor trailer carrying approximately 45,000 litres of acid. The public is advised to stay away from the affected area until further notice.
The material involved in the spill is potentially hazardous and may pose a threat to public health and safety. Motorists are asked to exercise caution when driving in the area and follow detours.
INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES
ADELAIDE METCALFE - Middlesex County OPP charge individual following Intimate partner violence investigation.
On July 7, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Adelaide Metcalfe, for the report of a disturbance.
The accused was placed under arrest.
As a result, a 27-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
-Uttering Threats - Cause death or -Bodily Harm-Spousal
-Assault - Spousal
-Assault
The accused was held for bail.
There were no injuries reported.
TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE
NORTH MIDDLESEX - Driver facing impaired by drug charge after traffic complaint in North Middlesex.
On July 7, 2025, at 12:22 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Ailsa Craig Main Street in Ailsa Craig, North Middlesex.
The vehicle was located stationary at a business at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.
As a result, a 44-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
-Operation while impaired - drugs
-Operation while impaired - blood drug concentration
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 26, 2025.
FATAL COLLISION CLOSES EASTBOUND LANES ON HIGHWAY 402 IN LONDON
MIDDLESEX COUNTY -
Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 402.
On Friday, July 4, 2025, at approximately 12:25 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Middlesex detachment along with emergency services responded to the eastbound lanes of Highway 402 between Colonel Talbot Road and Wonderland Road for a report of collision involving a transport truck, mini van and Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
It was determined that an SUV was travelling westbound on Highway 402 and crossed over the median into eastbound lanes and collided with a minivan and transport truck.
One person from the SUV was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injures. Three people from the mini van were also transported to be treated for injuries however an 87-year-old, male passenger from Sarnia was later pronounced deceased in hospital. The driver of the transport truck was uninjured
