As we celebrate Small Business Week, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible entrepreneurs and business owners who form the foundation of Middlesex County’s economy. From family-owned shops and cafes along our main streets to innovative agri-businesses, state-of-the-art manufacturers, and your neighborhood mechanic’s garage, small businesses drive growth, create jobs, and build the vibrant communities that we are proud to call home.
Across Middlesex County, small businesses do more than provide goods and services; they embody the spirit of resilience, creativity, and community. They sponsor our local sports teams, support charitable causes, and create welcoming spaces where neighbours gather and celebrate life’s milestones. Each storefront, workshop, and farm gate operation represents someone’s hard work, determination, and belief in a brighter future.
Small businesses play a vital role in shaping our economic sustainability. They foster new ideas, attract investment, and keep dollars circulating locally. Whether you’re enjoying a meal at a local restaurant, sourcing products from a farm market, or partnering with a small manufacturer, you’re strengthening our local economy and helping it thrive.
This week, and every week, I encourage everyone to support the small businesses that make Middlesex County unique. On behalf of County Council, thank you to all our business owners for your vision, perseverance, and leadership. Together, we are building a stronger, more prosperous Middlesex County.
