ILDERTON - The curtain has come down on another successful season for the Ilderton Fair, with crowds enjoying all there was to offer.
This year’s fair ran from Friday September 26th to Sunday September 28th, and featured something for everyone to enjoy, from the ever-popular midway to food to craft displays.
A big part of the fair is a celebration of the area’s agricultural heritage. “We strive to make sure we keep that aspect going,” says Ilderton Agricultural Society President, Valerie Tozek
Tozek.
Picture-perfect weather brought out the crowds not only for the fair, but the parade on Saturday. “That features floats from different service groups and business groups. There are also some cars for the car show. The Medway band always starts the parade,” says Tozek.
Western University student, and Ilderton resident Rachel Little was this year’s Fair Ambassador. She was joined in the honours by Bill Thirlwall, who was chosen as the 2025 Golden Ambassador in recognition of his years of service to the community.
This was the 174th year for the Fair. As to what keeps people coming back year after year, local spirit plays an important role. “It’s the community. The community keeps coming out to support us. Without the community volunteers we wouldn’t have the success we’ve having,” says Tozek.
