On Tuesday, November 11th, Canadians from coast to coast to coast will pause to remember. Remember those who fought tyranny on the battlefields of Vimy Ridge, Normandy and Afghanistan, to name a few. Remember the victories won in the name of freedom. Remember the families still impacted by the loss of those who fought for our nation.
November 11th is a unique moment where Canadians are unified. We enjoy freedoms that many nations envy. Free elections, freedom of religion, freedom of expression. These pillars were won through battle and bloodshed.
Canada has a proud military tradition, joining with our allies to combat enemies of peace and freedom at home and abroad. May we never waver from this mission.
Canada is blessed with innovation, beautiful landscapes, natural resources and hard workers.
Sacrifice is in our bones. Whether you are at work, at home or at a cenotaph, take time to reflect on our freedoms. Then, say thank you.
On this Remembrance Day, let us not lose our resolve to fight tyranny wherever it
lives, and let us always stand for truth and freedom.
