Middlesex-London is blessed with fertile land and a community of farmers who feed and fuel Canada. Their resilience during seasons of drought and economic uncertainty is a testament to their hard work and resolve. Local grocery stores and farmers markets, with their colourful array of fruits and vegetables, put the work of farmers on full display..
Farming is a multidisciplinary pursuit. Farmers are marketers, creating new networks to sell their crops. They are innovators, seeking new and efficient ways of working the land. They are accountants, balancing the books after each fiscal year. They are fixers, knowing every nut and bolt in each piece of machinery. They are teachers, passing on the tradition of farming to the next generation. They are leaders, at home and in the communities where they serve.
As a third generation farmer, I grew up knowing these realities taught to me by my grand-parents and parents. They shaped me in my younger years and they have formed me into the MP I am today. I have always stood up for farmers and will continue to do so in my role as your Member of Parliament in the Parliamentary arena and beyond.
I thank you for your tireless work. I thank you for your resolve. I thank you for your innovation.

God Bless The Farmer.
