As summer rolls around once again, I’ve been reflecting on what has already been a busy and productive first half of 2026 across Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
One thing I’m especially proud of is the significant provincial investment our communities have received since January. In just six months, our riding has seen millions of dollars announced for local infrastructure, economic development, accessibility improvements, health care initiatives, festivals, and community spaces that help make our towns stronger places to live and work.
These investments are making a real difference across Middlesex County and throughout the riding, and it’s encouraging to see our communities receiving the support they deserve.
Here are a few recent highlights:
•Our government has invested more than $49 million to expand reliable high-speed internet access to 3,340 homes, farms, and businesses across Middlesex County. Delivered through the province’s Accelerated High-Speed Internet Program, the project is helping connect communities including Adelaide-Metcalfe, Middlesex Centre, North Middlesex, Strathroy-Caradoc, London, and Lucan Biddulph, improving access to essential digital services and supporting growth in rural and underserved areas.
•Ontario’s Minister of Education, Paul Calandra, visited Kilworth earlier this year to announce major investments in local school infrastructure, including two projects in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. The province is investing $19.7 million toward an expanded replacement for St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School in Lucan, creating space for 424 students, along with $19.1 million for an addition at Parkview Public School in Komoka that will add 225 student spaces. These projects will help accommodate growing communities and ensure students continue to have access to modern learning environments close to home.
•As we celebrate Seniors’ Month this June, I also want to recognize the investments supporting seniors and older adults across the riding. Local organizations are receiving annual funding to help cover operating costs and continue delivering programs that keep seniors active and connected in their communities. For 2026–27, the Craigwiel Seniors Active Living Centre will receive $51,285, the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre $57,640, the Middlesex Centre Seniors Active Living Centre $57,640, and the Thamesville Happy Club $35,959. Together, these centres serve approximately 865 seniors and older adults across Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
Along with these announcements, I’ve also had the opportunity to attend many fantastic community events over the past few months. Events like the Community Over Cancer Gala, hosting a 50+ Expo alongside Lianne Rood, attending The Wright Place grand opening, and meeting with constituents are always highlights of my role as MPP.
These events are a reminder of what makes our riding special. I always appreciate the opportunity to connect with residents, hear about local priorities, and celebrate the incredible work happening across Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
As we head into summer, I want to thank everyone who contributes to our communities in big and small ways. Your efforts help keep our towns vibrant, welcoming, and growing.
And as always, my offices are here to help with provincial matters and services. My team and I are always happy to assist.
I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer, and I look forward to continuing to work together for our communities in the months ahead.
