It’s hard to believe how quickly the months have flown by since I was re-elected as your Member of Provincial Parliament for Lambton—Kent—Middlesex. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has reached out, invited me to community events, or stopped to share a few words—whether it’s been in a local arena, on a farm, or during a town hall. Your voices continue to guide the work I do every day, and it remains the greatest honour to serve this incredible riding.
Since returning to Queen’s Park, I have had the opportunity to take on new responsibilities as Deputy Chief Government Whip, as well as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Rural Affairs and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Emergency Management and Preparedness. These roles allow me to not only bring our local perspective to the table, but also to directly support the government’s work on key rural and emergency readiness priorities—both of which are incredibly important to the residents of Lambton—Kent—Middlesex.
Here at home, I have spent the past few months travelling across the riding and reconnecting with local leaders, organizations, and constituents. Whether it’s been discussions about rural schools, local infrastructure, agricultural innovation, or the need for stronger access to health care, I have appreciated every opportunity to hear from you. It’s clear that while each community has its own unique strengths and challenges, we all share a commitment to seeing our region thrive.
We have already seen what’s possible when community members, local leaders, and the province come together. From investments in local health care and housing, to improvements in recreational spaces and community safety, progress is happening across the board—and that’s a credit to the hard work of so many people who are passionate about building a better future.
At the provincial level, our government is continuing to take action to grow the economy, reduce internal trade barriers, and ensure Ontario remains a place where businesses can thrive and families can build their lives. Our new Protect Ontario Through Free Trade Within Canada Act is a major step forward in making it easier for workers to move, for goods to flow, and for our province to unlock billions in untapped economic opportunity. This matters for our riding because local businesses, farms, and tradespeople need access to a strong and fair market—both here and across the country.
Another major focus is preparing Ontario for future challenges. That includes strengthening emergency preparedness so that rural communities are not left behind during extreme weather events or other crises. As Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Emergency Management and Preparedness, I will continue to work to ensure our rural municipalities have the support, tools, and coordination they need to protect people and property.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the strength and resilience of the people who call Lambton—Kent—Middlesex home. Every time I attend a local event, visit a small business, or speak with a community leader, I am reminded of the values that make this riding so special: hard work, community spirit, and a deep sense of care for our neighbours.
As the school year wraps up, I want to extend a special congratulations to all 2025 graduates. Whether you are finishing elementary school, high school, college, or university—your determination, especially in these unpredictable times, is something to be proud of. Your future is bright, and I wish you all the best in the next chapter of your journey.
Looking Ahead
The months ahead will be focused on continuing to strengthen our economy, protect services that matter most, and ensure our rural communities remain vibrant and well-supported. Whether it’s working to improve health care access, support our farmers and agri-businesses, or ensure the sustainability of rural schools and infrastructure—I remain committed to advocating for this riding at every level.
