TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY CHARGE
THAMES CENTRE - Traffic stop leads to multiple charges. On July 25, 2025, at 7:52 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while travelling in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in the Municipality of Thames Centre, was alerted by the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system of a vehicle possibly travelling with stolen licence plates. A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver became resistant and fled into a field. Members of the OPP Canine (K9) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called in to assist with the search, however, were met with negative results. Investigation revealed the identity of the driver at which time a warrant was being sought. On July 26, 2025, at 8:50 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Putnam Road at Highway 401 for the report of a suspicious person matching the description of the wanted person.
As a result, a 28-year-old of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada, Resist Peace Officer, Operation While Prohibited - Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law, Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court. The accused was held for bail.
DISTURBANCE RESULTS IN CHARGES
MIDDLESEX CENTRE, - Disturbance results in charges for multiple individuals. On August 9, 2025, at 4:55 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a disturbance involving multiple individuals, at a residence on Fanshawe Park Road West in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre. Investigation revealed there was an altercation between multiple individuals after a dispute over the private sale of a vehicle. One involved person received minor injuries as a result. A 21-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 22-year-old, all of London have been charged under the Criminal Code with: Assault
The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 4, 2025.Further investigation revealed a firearm was observed during the altercation.
As a result, a 26-year-old of Windsor, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Possession of imitation weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying concealed weapon, Poss of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts), Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts). The accused was held for bail.
$10,000 FRAUD INVESTIGATION IN MIDDLESEX CENTRE
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police investigating a fraud occurrence in Middlesex Centre. On August 13, 2025, at 2:51 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a fraud. Investigation revealed the victim received an unsolicited phone call indicating their credit card had been compromised.
In an effort to better assist the victim, the suspect attended the residence and proceeded to obtain banking and cell phone information as well as passwords. The suspect, a younger looking black male wearing a suit, fled the area driving a small grey car. Shortly after, multiple purchases were made, totalling approximately $10,000.

OPP INVESTIGATING A FATAL COLLISION IN NORTH MIDDLESEX
NORTH MIDDLESEX - Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigating a fatal collision in North Middlesex. On August 15, 2025, at approximately 11:25 p.m., emergency services including members of the Middlesex County OPP, Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Thames Centre Fire, were dispatched to Cedar Swamp Road between McGillivray Drive and Mooresville Drive in the Municipality of North Middlesex, for the report of a single vehicle collision. Investigation revealed a vehicle travelling on Cedar Swamp Road, left the roadway and rolled. The driver, a 37-year-old male from North Middlesex, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Members of the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team attended the scene along with Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit to assist with the investigation. Cedar Swamp Road between McGillivary Drive and Moorseville Drive was closed for the investigation.
