I hope you had a wonderful summer in Lucan Biddulph where we all enjoyed fantastic weather. Fall however is a beautiful time of year in Lucan Biddulph with amazing colours. There are many places in our community where you can enjoy all the season offers.
This week is Small Business Week and Lucan Biddulph is excited to celebrate our small businesses and shine a spotlight on the vital role local businesses play in our community. Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, creating jobs, supporting sports teams, giving back to local charities, and filling storefronts with unique products and services. We would like to encourage everyone in the community to get involved by shopping and dining locally, and sharing their favourite businesses on social media.
This fall, our Parks & Recreation Department has a variety of activities and programs designed to keep you active, healthy and engaged! Our commitment to providing diverse and inclusive recreational opportunities remains steadfast. Whether you are looking to engage in physical fitness, explore your unique programming, or participate in community events, our Community Centre your gateway to a fulfilling fall season. Embrace the chance to learn something new, meet neighbours, and create lasting memories in our beautiful community. Our community thrives when we come together, and it is through your participation that we continue to build a strong, vibrant Lucan Biddulph. Find out more about the programs, services and amenities by visiting lucanbiddulph.on.ca or visit our social media pages (Township of Lucan Biddulph or Discover Lucan Biddulph).
Recently, Council has approved a number of important plans for our community including an updated Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Official Plan as well as our Strategic Plan. During the development of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, residents were given the opportunity to provide their feedback and input on their vision for our Parks and Recreation facilities, parks, open spaces, trails, policies and programs. Thank you to all the residents and community groups that participated in the information gathering stages of the development of the Master Plan. The new Master Plan will help guide staff, council and committees over the next ten years. The final Master Plan can be found on the Township’s website.
This week is also Local Government week. This provides a chance to reflect on the vital services provided by municipal governments. It allows for the opportunity to highlight the important role that local government has to create positive, lasting change for our communities. To keep up to date for the business of the municipality, please sign up for our newsletter and council meeting highlights. You can do this through the website. If you haven’t already, be sure to download the Lucan Biddulph APP for both Android and Apple products.
We should also take pride in the fact that Lucan Biddulph is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Twenty-five years ago, the Village of Lucan and Biddulph Township joined together to form one Township. Since that time, thanks to current and past residents, staff and councils, Lucan Biddulph has achieved great things and has become a thriving, welcoming and pleasant community. We look forward to all the wonderful things yet to come.
