As we gather in the festive spirit of the holidays, I extend my warmest greetings to all residents of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. Christmas is a time of gratitude, and as 2024 comes to a close, I want to take the time to reflect upon the highlights of these past few months as I serve as your Member of Provincial Parliament.
I value the trust that you have placed in me as your representative in Queen’s Park. I was humbled to have gained the nomination for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, lead a strong campaign, and successfully won the by-election in May. One of my proudest achievements has been my appointment as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Rural Affairs, the Honourable Lisa Thompson. This role suits our rural riding, and I am excited to focus on initiatives that directly support our unique challenges by enhancing access to essential services and fostering economic growth.
I am proud to have made significant funding announcements that have revitalized our riding. Investments such as improving access to health care, enhancing Senior Active Living Centres, advancing manufacturing, and supporting agricultural innovation benefit all constituents. I will continue to work with local and provincial government to build upon the progress we’ve made: promoting new businesses and services, encouraging long-term growth, and driving prosperity.
This summer, I was honoured to attend many special events throughout our riding. Whether it was a parade, fair or tractor pull, I am grateful to each community that welcomed me to their festivities. I look forward to participating in more of these events in the year ahead.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role as your MPP is recognizing individuals whose tireless efforts make our riding such a special place. I was privileged to present certificates and other acknowledgments to those individuals who enrich our communities, whether they support our youth, volunteer with a service club, or celebrate art and culture.
This Christmas, I encourage everyone to remember the true spirit of the holidays and those who face extra challenges. If possible, extend a helping hand to those in need by donating your time, talents or funds to food banks, charities or service groups.
May this holiday season bring joy to our hearts, peace to our lives and an abundance of blessings to you and your loved ones. I know that we will continue to make Lambton-Kent-Middlesex a better place to live, and I look forward to what we will accomplish together in 2025 – and beyond.
