INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES
SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX - Investigation results in charges for individual from Southwest Middlesex. On May 11, 2025, at 4:01 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Thames Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, for the report of an after-the-fact assault between two individuals, resulting from a traffic complaint. As a result of the investigation, police located an involved individual at a nearby residence, at which time they were placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
A 38-year-old of Southwest Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Assault, Operation While Impaired - Alcohol, Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 17, 2025.
SINGLE VEHICLE ROLLOVER LEADS TO CARELESS DRIVING CHARGE
LUCAN BIDDULPH - Driver charged after vehicle leaves road and collides with hydro pole. On May 14, 2025, at 5:46 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and local fire were dispatched to Denfield Road in Lucan Biddulph for the report of a single vehicle rollover. Early investigation revealed the vehicle left the roadway, rolled and struck a hydro pole. As a result of the collision, the driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Denfield road remained closed for a few hours between Prince William Road and Maple Lodge Drive as hydro crews worked to replace the damaged pole. A 70-year-old of Denfield, has been charged with Careless Driving, under the Highway Traffic Act.
DRIVER CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - Driver charged with stunt driving in Middlesex Centre, travelling well over double the posted 60km/h speed limit. On May 19, 2025, at 7:52 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was performing a traffic enforcement initiative on Richmond Street in Arva, Middlesex Centre. A vehicle was observed travelling well over double the posted 60 km/h speed limit at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
As a result, a 23-year-old of London, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with: Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, The driver’s licence has been suspended for 30 days and the vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Provincial Traffic Court to speak to the charges at a later date.
OPP RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE FOR DRIVER
NORTH MIDDLESEX - Driver facing impaired charge as a result of OPP RIDE Program. On May 17, 2025, at 11:18 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in Ailsa Craig, the Municipality of North Middlesex. A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.
As a result, a 44-year-old of Cambridge, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), Dangerous operation.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 25, 2025.
FATAL COLLISION CLAIMS FIVE LIVES IN MIDDLESEX
MIDDLESEX - Five individuals are deceased following a multi-vehicle collision in Middlesex County. On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Middlesex County and Oxford County detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with fire and emergency medical services, responded to a collision involving a transport truck and two sport utility vehicles (SUVs) at the intersection of Thorndale Road and Cobble Hills Road.
Four occupants of one of the SUVs were pronounced deceased on scene, and the fifth passenger was airlifted by Ornge to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and later died. The driver and passenger of the second SUV and the driver of the transport truck sustained minor injuries.
Members of the Middlesex County OPP and the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team continue to investigate the collision. Thorndale Road and Cobbles Hills Road will remain closed for the next several hours for the investigation.
Investigators are asking members of the public that may have been in the area at the time of the incident to check their dash camera footage in the event they captured the event, or the vehicles involved.

OPP INVESTIGATING BREAK & ENTER IN THAMES CENTRE
THAMES CENTRE - Middlesex County OPP investigating break and enter to a residential garage in Thames Centre. On May 17, 2025, at 5:04 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a residence on Donnybrook Drive in the Municipality of Thames Centre, for the report of break and enter in progress.
Investigation revealed an unknown individual(s) gained entry to a garage on the property and proceeded to steal an undetermined amount of cash and alcohol. The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle after being confronted by the homeowner.
Police observed the suspect in the area of Byron Avenue and Dorchester Road however, the suspect was able to elude officers.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’, wearing a ball cap with a light, a blue plaid shirt and grey pants. The investigation is continuing.
TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO TRAFFICKING CHARGES FOR DRIVER
THAMES CENTRE - Traffic stop results in trafficking charges for driver. On May 9, 2025, at 2:18 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Highway 401 at Dorchester Road in Thames Centre, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. Investigation revealed the driver was suspended.
The driver was placed under arrest, at which time a quantity of illicit drugs, suspected to be fentanyl was observed and seized. As a result, a 28-year-old of Brant County, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with: Driving while under suspension, Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs, Poss of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking. The accused was held for bail.
