LUCAN – On Wednesday, the Township of Lucan Biddulph celebrated the development of a new All Wheels Park at Optimist Elm Street Park, which was made possible in part thanks to a $150,000 Capital grant they received from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). Local MPP Steve Pinsonneault and local Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson were in attendance to mark the work accomplished as a result of the grant.
“I’m proud to see the Ontario Trillium Foundation investing in projects like the All Wheels Park in Lucan Biddulph. This new space will encourage active living, build community, and offer local youth and families a safe and inclusive place to connect and thrive,” said Steve Pinsonneault, MPP for Lambton—Kent—Middlesex.
This new All Wheels Park will provide a safe, modern, and accessible space that encourages outdoor activity, supports healthy lifestyles, and enhances the overall use of the Optimist Elm Street Park as a community hub. The new park has created a vibrant and inclusive recreational space designed for skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes, and other wheeled activities for youth and families of all ages.
“This project is a game-changer for our community,” said Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson. “The All Wheels Park will give our youth a much-needed space to gather, play, and stay active. We are deeply grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for recognizing the importance of this project. This is not just an investment in infrastructure—it’s an investment in our young people, our families, and our future.”
The new park has been designed in consultation with local users and community stakeholders to ensure it reflects the needs and character of Lucan Biddulph. It will be a key feature in revitalizing the Optimist Elm Street Park area and aligning with the Township’s broader goals around active living and youth engagement.
The Township of Lucan Biddulph thanks the Ontario Trillium Foundation for its continued support in helping rural communities grow stronger through targeted and meaningful investment.
