Quadro Communications has announced a major investment in the community of Lucan with the launch of a multi-phase, multi-year fibre internet expansion project that will bring next-generation connectivity to residents and businesses throughout the town.
The project reflects Quadro’s long-standing commitment to investing in the communities it serves. As a cooperative telecommunications provider, Quadro believes strong local infrastructure is essential to supporting economic growth, attracting new families and businesses, and ensuring rural communities have access to the same advanced technology as larger urban centres.
While Quadro already provides service throughout much of Lucan, this fibre build represents a significant upgrade to the community’s telecommunications infrastructure. Replacing older fibre-to-the-node and coax-based technology with full fibre connections will improve reliability, increase network capacity, and help future-proof the town for decades to come.
“Council is pleased to see continued investment in high-speed fibre infrastructure in Lucan Biddulph. Reliable connectivity is more important than ever for residents, businesses, and future growth, and we appreciate Quadro’s commitment to expanding service within our community.” Cathy Burghardt-Jesson–Mayor of Lucan Biddulph.
Once complete, residents and businesses will benefit from faster internet speeds, lower latency, and a more dependable connection capable of supporting the growing demands of modern life—including remote work, online learning, streaming, gaming, smart home technology, and business operations.
The investment is particularly meaningful because it goes beyond simply expanding into new service areas. In many parts of Lucan, the project involves upgrading existing infrastructure to ensure the entire community can benefit from a more resilient and modern network.
Quadro says this type of long-term investment is part of its commitment to building sustainable infrastructure that supports both current residents and future growth within the township.
“Access to reliable fibre internet is increasingly becoming essential infrastructure for communities,” said Quadro. “Whether it’s supporting local businesses, helping students learn from home, enabling remote work opportunities, or giving prospective homebuyers confidence that a community is digitally connected, fibre connectivity plays an important role in the future of rural Ontario.”
Construction on the fibre network will take place in several phases over the coming years. Each phase is being carefully planned to ensure long-term success while minimizing disruption as construction progresses through the community.
While some neighbourhoods will receive service sooner than others, Quadro’s long-term goal is to continue expanding fibre infrastructure throughout Lucan as each phase of the project is completed.
Quadro is encouraging both current and prospective customers to register in advance to have fibre brought directly to their homes or businesses. Residents can learn more about the project and sign up by visiting Quadro’s Fibre Projects page at.
Customers with questions or looking to learn more are encouraged to visit Quadro’s Lucan retail location at 280 Main Street or call 1-800-265-4983 to speak with a member of the Quadro team.
