SPORTS - It was a battle of the Kings at the Komoka Wellness Centre on Saturday October 24th, as the Komoka Kings took on the Elmira Sugar Kings.
Elmira emerged victorious, blanking Komoka 7-0.
The Sugar Kings scored at the 3:24 mark in the first period, then recorded a second goal less than 10 seconds later.
Elmira went on to score four more goals in the second period, including a power play goal as the period drew to a close. Kings goalies Owen Bienstman and Brian Rathwell both spent time in the net. The final goal for the Sugar Kings was a power play goal at the one-minute mark.
Shots on goal were 49 for Elmira and 22 for Komoka.
The Komoka Kings will be looking to improve their record as October draws to a close with a home game on October 31st. That’s when they take on the Sarnia Sting.
