NORTH MIDDLESEX - What began as a shared idea between two local organizers has grown into a community-driven event company making a visible impact in North Middlesex and surrounding areas.
Founded by Amber Robinson and Zahara Lila, A-Z Events was created in response to a challenge the founders knew firsthand –the difficulty many local vendors face in finding affordable, welcoming spaces to showcase their products. Their goal was simple: to create space for local vendors to thrive while giving communities a reason to come together.
That vision first came to life in 2023 in Strathroy with the launch of The Loving Local Market at the Strathroy Lions Club. The inaugural event featured just 21 vendors, yet it exceeded expectations, proving that small, affordable, community-focused events can have a significant impact. Organizers say the strong response from both vendors and visitors confirmed they were meeting a genuine need.
Since then, A-Z Events has continued to grow, hosting a variety of seasonal and annual markets that attract residents from across North Middlesex as well as neighbouring communities. Designed to be inclusive and family-friendly, the events welcome everyone —from young families to seniors. Markets typically feature a mix of artisans, makers, food vendors, and community partners, often incorporating charitable initiatives such as food bank support.
Although A-Z Events operates as a private business rather than a non-profit, giving back remains central to its mission. Profits are regularly reinvested into the community by supporting junior vendors and local not-for-profit organizations, including waived vendor fees and local sponsorships. This approach helps emerging entrepreneurs gain valuable experience while strengthening the local small-business network.
“What we love most is the relationships,” says co-founder Amber Robinson. “You realize how connected everyone is, and those connections turn into lasting friendships.”
Looking ahead, A-Z Events plans to continue expanding its presence in North Middlesex, with a focus on growing existing markets, increasing vendor diversity, and creating inclusive experiences that strengthen local communities.
By keeping community at the heart of every event, A-Z Events is demonstrating that local markets are about more than shopping –they are about shared experiences and mutual support.
