SPORTS - Lucan’s Irish Junor C hockey team had two games on thanksgiving weekend. Friday night, October 11, they lost to Thamesford, 6-2. On the following Saturday Lucan hosted Exeter and was scoreless in the first period but gained five in period two. Exeter leads in the West Yeck Division as Lucan sits in the basement. Tied at 6 in period three, it took a shootout in overtime to decide the victor. The Irish won 7-6.

The North Middlesex Stars also were to play those nights. Friday was against the Port Stanley Sailors on their turf; however, the game was suspended due to a glass breakage and unsafe conditions with the replacement. Saturday October 12, they hosted The Mount Brydges Bulldogs and won, 5-4.
On Saturday night, October 19, they hosted Exeter. The Hawks came to play and scored twice in period one while North Middlesex remained silent.
The visitors scored again in period two, a powerplay shot, making it a 3-goal game. Exeter made two more goals before the Stars finally answered with two of their own, but it wasn’t enough. The Stars lost, 5-2.
The next day was a Sunday afternoon game where the Stars hosted Port Stanley. The Sailors are in sixth place to the Stars fourth place seat. North Middlesex scored three times to Port Stanley’s two in period one.
Although the Stars had one powerplay goal, they also had a shorthanded goal scored against them. The home boys made two more in period two, both were powerplays, to give them a three-goal lead. Both teams scored twice in the third, but North Middlesex would come out the victors, at 7-4.
