SPORTS - The Komoka Kings won their match against the KW Siskins in dramatic fashion November 16th, winning the game 3-2 in overtime.
It looked like the Siskins might take the game late in the third period with a 2-1 score. But with less than five seconds to go in the game, the Kings’ Alexander Akena tied it up at 2 all, with assists from Daymond Kindree and Ethan Alexander, a Kings Forward. Alexander went on to score the winning goal for the Kings at 3 minutes into overtime. Nathan Gaitens was credited with the assist.
Strong defence marked the early part of the game, with neither team scoring a goal in the first period. Owen Edwards was in goal for the Kings, and made some key saves. It was his first time in a Kings uniform.
Seth Huygen put the Kings up 1-0 in the second, with a goal late in the period. Assists went to Jagan Chanderdat and Nathan Gaitens.
The Siskins responded with two goals in the third period to go ahead, before the Kings won the game. Total shots on goal were 30 for the Kings and 32 for the Siskins.
