INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGE
NORTH MIDDLESEX - Middlesex County OPP charge individual following Intimate partner violence investigation. On November 12, 2024, at 4:28 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Nairn Road in North Middlesex, for the report of a disturbance. As a result, a 71-year-old of Middlesex County, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Assault - Spousal. The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.
TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop. On November 13, 2024, at 9:54 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Richmond Street in Middlesex Centre, performed a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment. As a result, a 24-year-old of Lucan, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Operation while impaired - alcohol, Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on December 19, 2024.
BREAK & ENTER TO RURAL PROPERTY IN NORTH MIDDLESEX
NORTH MIDDLESEX- Middlesex County OPP investigating a break and enter to a rural property in North Middlesex. On October 25, 2024, at 6:26 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a rural property on Cedar Swamp Road in North Middlesex for the report of a break and enter and theft. Investigation revealed an unknown individual(s) gained entry to a garage and a shop on the property some time during the overnight hours.
Tools and a dirt bike were stolen, however the value of missing items is unknown at this time.The investigation is continuing.cle occupants were transported by EMS to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. For protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation Melbourne Road is closed between Parkhouse Drive and Falconbridge Drive, as well as Glendon Drive between Springfield Road and Glen Oak Road.
OPP RESPOND TO PLANE CRASH IN SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX
SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX - Three individuals were transported to hospital following a plane crash in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex. On November 9, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP, including Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and local fire services, responded to a report of a plane crash on Olde Drive, between Springfield Road and Melbourne Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the pilot was attempting to land the small aircraft, when the plane crashed and flipped over upon landing.
Four occupants were on board of the small plane at the time of the crash. Three individuals were transported by EMS to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the fourth individual was uninjured.
The Transportation Safety Board has been notified and will continue with the investigation.
