How one woman is rebuilding her life and her Real Estate career – half a world away from home.
Lisette was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa to a Canadian Father and South African Mother and lived there for most of her life until moving to Canada in 2019 to be closer to her children.
Lisette began her Real Estate journey alongside her Mother, who was a respected agent in their community. Over the years, the mother-daughter duo built a strong reputation for integrity and personal service, eventually launching their own Real Estate Company that specialized in residential sales and buyers. For 25 years, Lisette worked tirelessly in South Africa’s dynamic property market, gaining deep expertise and knowledge before relocating to Canada.
“My relocation to Canada was spurred by my sons who were concerned for my safety in South Africa. Unfortunately, the real estate industry had its dangers and Realtors were often considered ‘soft-targets’, of which I experienced first-hand”.
Upon arriving in Canada, Lisette re-started her journey back into Real Estate, studying to get her Ontario Real Estate licence. In the interim, she worked in a restaurant, something she hadn’t done since she was a teenager. Working in a restaurant proved to be grounding and gave her much happiness as she has always loved meeting different people and hearing the stories from all walks of life – “I am a “people person”, says Lisette.
Once she completed her Ontario licence requirements, Lisette settled in Strathroy and found the town absolutely beautiful with all its wide open spaces, loads of character, history and what she describes as “heart & soul”. Lisette has enjoyed meeting many wonderful people and is excited to have joined Platinum Key Realty, Brokerage and will be servicing the Strathroy-Caradoc & surrounding communities.
