TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE
STRATHROY-CARADOC - Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop. On January 11, 2025, at 5:06 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Highway 402 Eastbound in the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, performed a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment. As a result, a 49-year-old of Simcoe, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Liquor Licence Control Act with: Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor. The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on March 4, 2025.
BREAK AND ENTER IN ADELAIDE METCALFE
ADELAIDE METCALFE - Middlesex County OPP investigating a break and enter in Adelaide Metcalfe. On January 10, 2025, at 10:47 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a storage facility at 28607 Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe, for the report of a break and enter and theft. It was determined an unknown individual(s) entered the property and broke into a single storage unit. At this time, it is estimated that approximately $10,000 worth of tools and personal property have been stolen, including a firearm. The investigation is continuing.
VEHICLE ENTRY REPORTED IN ILDERTON
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - Middlesex County OPP investigating vehicle entry and theft of wallet in Ilderton. On January 13, 2025, at 4:03 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Meadowsweet Crescent in Ilderton, Municipality of Middlesex Centre, for the report of a vehicle entry. Investigation revealed around 2:48 a.m., an unknown individual gained entry to a parked vehicle and proceeded to steal personal items including a wallet. Police believe the unknown suspect attempted to gain entry to other cars in the area. SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO REFUSAL CHARGE
SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX - Single vehicle collision leads to refusal charge.On January 15, 2025, at 7:26 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service, were dispatched to Irish Drive in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a single vehicle collision.The driver of the vehicle and lone occupant was placed under arrest. As a result, a 27-year-old of Southwest Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Failure or refusal to comply with demand. The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on March 20, 2025.
OPP INVESTIGATE FATAL COLLISION
SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX- An individual is deceased following a two-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex. On January 17, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., members of the Oneida Police Service, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Fire and Emergency Services, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a collision at Melbourne Road near Jubilee Road. The collision involved a passenger vehicle that collided with a transport truck. The lone driver of the passenger vehicle, a 29-year-old from Iona Station, was transported by EMS and later pronounced deceased at a trauma centre.The lone driver of the transport truck, 29-year-old from London sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the deceased individual will not be released out of respect for the family’s privacy. The Middlesex OPP with the assistance West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the collision.
TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION SENDS THREE INDIVIDUALS TO HOSPITAL
ADELAIDE METCALFE - A two-vehicle collision sent three individuals to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. On January 20, 2025, at 5:07 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and local fire, were dispatched to Centre Road, just north of Second Street in the township of Adelaide Metcalfe, for the report of a two-vehicle collision between a passenger vehicle and an ambulance. Two individuals from the ambulance were transported to hospital as a precaution. The driver of the passenger vehicle fled the scene on foot.Officers flooded the area and located the individual shortly after not far from the scene. The individual was placed under arrest and was also transported to hospital as a precaution. There were no civilians in the ambulance at the time. Centre Road was closed for approximately three hours as police investigated.The investigation is continuing, and updates will be provided when available.
